The New 52 Is A Bona Fide Success! But How Long Will It Last?

It’s been a little over a year since the launch of The New 52 so I feel it’s time to take a look back at this initiative’s success and look forward a bit to what The New 52 will look like in the future.  Regardless of how you feel about the reboot it’s clear that The New 52 gambit worked out very well for DC Comics and, according to some, the comic book industry as a whole.  In light of that, I wanted to talk about about the success of The New 52, the concept of reboots, and my concerns with how the New 52 will look like a few years from now. Scott Lobdell Does Something Right? A (LATE) Review of Superboy 10!

Scott Lobdell is currently writing multiple titles for DC Comics and, to put it kindly, he’s not been my favorite writer of the New 52.  If you’ve read my previous posts “Superman Is A Star And Should Be Written By One” and  “Tim Drake Was Never Robin? So ComicBookResources.com released this article today which covered the DC Comics Young Justice panel at San Diego Comic Con.  Scott Lobdell, writer of Teen Titans and Superboy (among others)  had a bit to say about what he’s planning on doing with said books.  Unfortunately what he said made me so…I was just…I mean…I’m ready to…AHHHH!!!!   Continue reading

10 DC Properties Warner Bros. Should Focus On Other Than The Metal Men.

So according to the internets, Barry Sonnenfeld is going to helm the film version of The Metal Men.  In case you don’t know, The Metal Men are the creation of Dr. Will Magnus who, thanks to his “responsometers” imbued his creations with various (and often wacky) personalities.  The Metal Men (and Woman) have special abilities derived from the alloys (or ya know…metals) they are made from.  Sooooo Gold can stretch super far, Lead can stop harmful radiation, and so on and so forth.  Here’s the wiki if you care to know the rest.  The bottom line is they are a crazy bunch of super robots and are a lot of fun to read.  When they actually have a comic book that is.
